Murfreesboro FFA Members Share Experiences, Future Plans

Members of the Murfreesboro High School FFA Chapter recently shared their experiences in agricultural education, highlighting the impact FFA has had on their lives and future goals.

Advisor Blake Simmons was joined by Chapter President Gracie Goodwin, ninth graders Hannah McMillian and Gage Harper, and sophomore Cooper Lowery to discuss the chapter’s activities and opportunities.

Goodwin spoke about what FFA means to her and how the organization has helped shape her plans after high school.

Harper shared that his grandmother inspired him to join FFA.

McMillian, a member of the poultry team, explained why she enjoys being part of FFA and what the experience has meant to her.

Lowery, who competes in Ag Mechanics, discussed his favorite aspects of FFA and his plans after graduation.

Simmons reflected on his own journey in FFA, describing what first sparked his interest in the organization and how that path eventually led him to become an agricultural education teacher.

McMillian also described the process of poultry judging and the skills involved in evaluating birds in competition.

In closing, Simmons noted that while the chapter is postponing its FFA Week celebration due to a busy schedule, members are looking forward to hosting their annual FFA banquet later this year.
