Glenwood Revitalization Group Working to Restore Downtown, Support Local Businesses

Efforts to restore and strengthen downtown Glenwood are underway thanks to the Glenwood Revitalization Group, a local investment group focused on improving the community while supporting small businesses.
Recently, we had the opportunity to speak with Kayla Hartsfield about the group and its purpose. Hartsfield explained that the organization is made up of six local couples who are from Glenwood and either own businesses or work in the community.
The group’s mission is to restore historic buildings in downtown Glenwood and lease them to quality tenants and businesses that can help revitalize the area. Their motto is “Purpose Over Profits,” with the main goal being the success of the businesses that operate in the renovated spaces and the overall betterment of the community.
Hartsfield said she and her husband, Ki Hartsfield, formed the investment group in February 2024. Since then, the group has already begun work on several renovation projects in downtown Glenwood.
Hartsfield also shared that the group hosted their first Lunch and Learn event in May 2025, designed to bring community leaders and business owners together to discuss ideas for downtown development and economic growth.
She also explained how the most recent Lunch and Learn event, held last Thursday, came about, noting that several community leaders and business owners from surrounding towns attended the gathering.
Stay tuned for part two of our interview with Hartsfield, where she will discuss more about what takes place during the Lunch and Learn events and why collaboration with neighboring communities is important for continued growth and development.
