Nashville School Board Accepts Resignations, Reviews Audit at Monthly Meeting

The Nashville School Board met Monday evening for their regular monthly session, addressing personnel changes, audit results, and upcoming district events.

During the meeting, the board accepted the resignation of Elementary Principal Tyra Hughes, who will remain in her position through the end of the school year. Board members also approved the resignation of Coach and teacher Todd Ledford, effective February 28, as well as Primary teacher Tessla Gills. In addition, the board approved the transfer of Cena Pierce, who will move from the Primary School to the High School to serve as a nurse.

Superintendent Doug Graham spoke about the district’s 2025 legislative audit, noting that it resulted in no findings.

Following discussion, board member Nick Britt made a motion, seconded by David Hilliard, to accept the 2025 Legislative Audit. The motion was approved.

Graham also announced details for the upcoming Hall of Fame Banquet, which will be held Saturday, June 13, at 6 p.m. in the Nashville High School cafeteria. He also shared information regarding the nomination deadline.

In other business, Graham announced that a special called meeting will be held this Friday at noon to discuss bids for the district’s turf project.
