Nashville Man Arrested on Charges Involving Minors

A Nashville man was arrested March 23 and charged with one count of sexual indecency with a child and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
The defendant appeared in Howard County Circuit Court before Bryan Chesshir, who set bond at $20,000.
According to court documents, the investigation began Feb. 17 when a 13-year-old girl reported to authorities with the Crimes Against Children Division that she babysat for 49-year-old Jason Paul Dixon, whom she identified as her great-uncle. The juvenile alleged that Dixon provided her with marijuana and alcohol.
On Feb. 27, a second juvenile, age 15, reported an incident to investigators involving Dixon at his residence.
Dixon was interviewed March 13 by a Howard County investigator at the Nashville Police Department. During the interview, Dixon stated that the juvenile initiated the encounter and claimed he attempted to stop it.
Sexual indecency with a child is classified as a Class D felony, punishable by up to six years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 upon conviction. Contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile is a Class A misdemeanor, carrying a potential sentence of up to one year in county jail and a fine of up to $2,500.
The case remains under investigation.
