Pike County Extension to Host “Gardening Ain’t Easy” Workshops in April

Residents in Pike County will have the opportunity to sharpen their gardening skills this month through a pair of educational workshops.

Pike County Extension Agriculture Agent Codie McAlister will lead “Gardening Ain’t Easy,” a program focused on helping gardeners better understand key topics such as soil fertility, companion planting, and how to grow vegetables at home.

The workshop will be offered twice to accommodate participants. The first session is scheduled today at 6 p.m. at the Pike County Extension Office in Murfreesboro. A second session will take place April 23 at 6 p.m. at the Bainum Library Community Room in Glenwood.

In addition to gardening techniques, attendees will also learn about easy vegetables to grow in a home garden and the benefits of growing their own food.

Those interested in attending can contact the Pike County Extension Office at 870-285-2161 for more information or to register.
