Cooking for a Change Event Highlights Asian Cuisine and Community Engagement

Residents in Nevada County will soon have the opportunity to expand their culinary skills through a unique local program.

Earlier this week, we spoke with Nevada County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences, Sheila Ballard, about the upcoming “Cooking for a Change” event.

Ballard began by discussing some of the previous classes she has hosted and the experiences participants have gained.

This session will feature an Asian theme, and Ballard shared some of the specific dishes participants will learn to prepare.

She also emphasized the importance of offering programs like this, noting the value they bring to the community.

Before wrapping up the interview, Ballard announced another upcoming event she plans to host.
