HCCC Special Olympics Teams Earn Second Place, Share Update with Rotary Club

Members of the Howard County Children’s Center (HCCC) Special Olympics basketball team attended the Nashville Rotary Club meeting on Wednesday, where coaches shared highlights from their recent competition. HCCC was permitted to take both basketball teams to the Special Olympics in Benton, and each team earned a second-place finish in its respective division.

HCCC Executive Director Rose Ray also addressed the group, announcing that the center will host a talent show this evening. She added that the Nashville Rotary Club Radio-thon is scheduled for Thursday, May 28, at 5 p.m. in the center’s cafeteria.

Ray noted that HCCC serves five counties, with 88 adult clients and 104 children enrolled in the Rainbow program. Clients receive a range of services, including speech, physical, and occupational therapy.

During the meeting, Nashville Rotary Club President Glenn Lance presented Ray with a $500 donation to help kick off the upcoming Radio-thon.

Additionally, three members of the Nashville Rotary Club—Bill Craig, Dena Tollett, and Carol Murry—also serve on the HCCC Board of Directors.
