Murfreesboro Woman Acquitted in Pike County Fraud Case

MURFREESBORO — Shana Nicole Pickrell of Murfreesboro was found not guilty last week following a jury trial in Pike County Circuit Court on charges of fraudulent use of a credit or debit card. The case was heard before Judge Bryan Chesshir.

According to court records, the case stemmed from a complaint filed by Eddie Pipkins, who reported that approximately $75,000 had been withdrawn from his personal bank account around May 8, 2025. Pipkins told investigators he suspected Pickrell—his son’s girlfriend—and his son, Andrew Pipkins, were responsible for the unauthorized transactions.

After discovering the missing funds, Pipkins contacted his bank and learned that multiple transactions were linked to a PayPal account in Pickrell’s name. He further alleged that Pickrell admitted to taking approximately $25,000.

During the investigation, authorities obtained audio recordings from the bank involving a caller identifying himself as Eddie Pipkins. In the recordings, the caller successfully confirmed a previously declined transaction and later approved another transaction while also reactivating the debit card. Investigators ultimately identified the caller as Andrew Pipkins.

Both Pickrell and Andrew Pipkins were subsequently charged with fraudulent use of a credit or debit card. Andrew Pipkins later entered a guilty plea as part of a negotiated agreement.

Pickrell proceeded to trial, where a jury deliberated for approximately 26 minutes before returning a verdict of not guilty.

Pickrell was represented by defense attorney Clayton Tinkes of Ashdown. The case was prosecuted by Deputy Prosecutor Dustin Bissell.
