Nashville Woman Arrested on Drug Charge Following Traffic Stop

A Nashville woman was taken into custody, after a traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine, according to authorities.
According to police records, Nashville Patrol Officer Rebecca Castleman initiated the stop after observing a silver Chevrolet Trailblazer fail to make a complete stop at a red light. As the vehicle pulled over, the officer noted that a rear-seat passenger was moving around frequently.
After approaching the vehicle and identifying herself, Officer Castleman made contact with the occupants. Due to the behavior of the rear-seat passenger and prior drug-related history associated with the individuals in the vehicle, assistance was requested from Nashville K9 Officer Greg Parker.
Officer Parker arrived on scene with K9 Thor and conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle. The K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a folded piece of tinfoil in the back seat area where the rear passenger had been sitting. Inside the foil, officers found a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The rear-seat passenger, identified as 41-year-old Tressie Scott of Nashville, was taken into custody and transported to the Howard County Detention Facility.
Scott is facing a charge of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
