Howard Memorial Hospital Celebrates 75 Years of Service and Recognition as Top 100 Critical Access Hospital
Friday marked a significant milestone for Howard Memorial Hospital (HMH) as it celebrated 75 years of dedicated service to the community. The event also highlighted HMH’s achievement as one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals for the second consecutive year.
The celebration drew a diverse crowd, including local dignitaries such as Nashville Mayor Larry Dunaway and Howard County Judge Brent Pinkerton. Notable attendees included Rusty Jackson from the Attorney General’s Office, Cody Burkham, District Director for Congressman Bruce Westerman, State Representative candidate Dolly Henley, and David Pearson, Regional Executive from the American Hospital Association.
Kicking off the festivities, Chief Operating Officer Stacy Harberson reflected on the hospital’s rich history.
Harberson explained the rigorous evaluation process that led to HMH’s recognition as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital. The assessment, conducted by Chartis, evaluates hospitals based on publicly reported data across three key areas: market, value, and finance. HMH achieved an impressive index rate of 96.5 across all categories.
CEO Dr. John Hearnsberger, who has been with the hospital since 1978, expressed gratitude for the community’s ongoing support and shared insights on the hospital’s evolution over the years.
