The Hunger Relief Alliance collaborates with local and national nonprofits, as well as state and federal agencies, to implement various programs, including the National School Breakfast, Summer Meals, and Afterschool Meals programs, alongside the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

Lance Whitney, Advocacy Director of AHRA, highlighted the organization’s statewide reach, based out of Little Rock. He mentioned that State Representative Danny Watson nominated the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen to receive this vital support.

Representative Watson also shared insights on legislative efforts made this past June through the Hunger Relief Alliance, noting that participation in these initiatives can help bring funding back for food pantries of their choice. Watson mentioned successful funding allocations in Howard and Hempstead Counties.

Watson emphasized the need for greater legislative involvement in addressing child hunger, advocating for more education among lawmakers about the importance of their role in combating food insecurity.

This partnership exemplifies the ongoing commitment to fighting hunger in Arkansas and highlights the critical role of community organizations in supporting those in need.
