Inaugural River Ranch Mentor Hunt Set for this weekend

On Saturday, October 5th, Natives of Nashville will kick off their inaugural River Ranch Mentor Hunt, titled “Get it for Game Wardens,” at the River Ranch Headquarters located at 390 Silver Ridge Road in Lockesburg.

The event will commence with a student and mentor hunt meeting tomorrow, followed by practice shooting at the range. Participants will have access to four staging areas with 25 deer stands, along with provided ATVs for transportation. Blood dogs will also be on hand for tracking, and youth hunters will receive swag bags sponsored by the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) and the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation (AGFF).

This special fundraising event aims to instill a love for wildlife conservation and ethical hunting practices in the next generation, while also supporting Arkansas’s dedicated game wardens. Young hunters will have the opportunity to participate in a free youth doe hunt, sanctioned by the NWTF, providing a supervised and educational experience.

Participants will include members of Nashville’s Trap Team and the Howard County 4-H, showcasing the talents of some of the region’s most promising youth hunters. Additionally, any deer harvested during the event will be donated to Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry, helping to support local communities in need.

This event promises to be both educational and impactful, fostering a deeper connection between young hunters and their environment.
