Mineral Springs School Board Approves New SRO, Career Coach During Monthly Meeting

The Mineral Springs School Board met Tuesday evening for their regular monthly meeting, approving new personnel hires and reviewing the district’s financial report.
During the meeting, board members approved the hiring of Jerry Carey as the district’s new School Resource Officer for the 2026-2027 school year. Carey is a retired federal agent and will join the district from Sylvan Hills School.
The board also approved the hiring of Tametri White as the district’s RootEd career coach for the upcoming school year.
Business Manager Frankie Tollett presented the district’s financial report for the end of April. According to Tollett, the district’s balance without certificates of deposit totaled $901,657.10, while the balance including CDs stood at $974,925.87. Tollett also reported the district’s total fund balance was $1,699,657.98.
Following discussion, the board approved the financial statement as presented.
