Blevins High School Beta Club Launches Shoe Drive Fundraiser

The Blevins High School Beta Club is kicking off a shoe drive fundraiser that will run until January 5, aiming to raise funds for Beta Club conventions. The initiative allows the club to earn money based on the total weight of gently worn, used, and new shoes collected, with Funds2Orgs issuing a check for the total amount.

The fundraiser will benefit both Junior and Senior High Beta members at Blevins. Community members can contribute by donating shoes at several primary collection points, including:

  • Nashville: Integrity Printing, Diamond Bank, Southwest AR Radio Station, McDonald’s
  • Hope: Loft, DaVita, The Farm Store, River Valley Tractor, U&A Hope-Texarkana
  • Blevins: Post Office, Hornet Hut

KMTB and KNAS had the opportunity to speak with Beta Club members Killus Woodruff and Bailey Jackson, who provided more details about the event. Woodruff highlighted how the shoes will be redistributed through the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise partners.

One success story from this initiative includes a budding entrepreneur in Haiti who was able to send her son to law school through the support received from previous shoe drives.

Andrea Woodruff, also a member of the National Beta Club, expressed her enthusiasm for the fundraiser, emphasizing the opportunity to help others in need.

Additionally, there will be a special shoe drive drop-off event on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Occasions parking lot in Nashville from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Andrea also mentioned the significant number of students involved in the Beta Club.

By participating in the Blevins Beta Shoe Drive, community members can give their old shoes a second chance while making a meaningful impact on lives around the world.
