Howard County Historical Society Curator Talks Hometown Christmas and Museum Events
Yesterday, Susan Nannemann, a member of the Howard County Historical Society and owner of Sunshine Acres, spoke with us here at KMTB and KNAS about her role as a curator and an upcoming event that promises to bring the community together this holiday season.
In part one of our conversation, Nannemann shared insights into her duties as a curator for the Historical Society.
As curator, Nannemann is deeply involved in preserving and showcasing the rich history of Howard County. She explained how her role allows her to connect local residents with the past while ensuring the collection of artifacts and historical documents is maintained for future generations.
The discussion also highlighted an exciting event coming up on Sunday, December 8th: Hometown Christmas, an annual celebration that invites families to enjoy holiday traditions and seasonal festivities.
Nannemann encouraged everyone to attend the Hometown Christmas open house, where the community can tour the museum, enjoy festive decorations, and participate in a variety of holiday-themed activities.
She also teased some of the entertainment lined up for the day, including live performances and music, as well as a special guest appearance from none other than Santa Claus himself.
Santa’s visit is sure to delight children of all ages, adding a touch of magic to this already heartwarming event.
Stay tuned for part two of our discussion, where we’ll dive deeper into some of the upcoming projects at the Howard County Historical Society.
