Developing Howard County Committee Discusses Grant Reimbursement, By-law Changes, and Upcoming Focus Groups
Last week, the Developing Howard County committee met for their monthly meeting and discussed their public meeting that was held earlier in November.
Board members voted to reimburse UA Cossatot for their portion of the grant that funds the economic development commission. Executive Director Vanessa Weeks reported the commission’s portion of the grant was $17,700. She said they board will have a yearly ending balance of about $28,000.
Board members voted to change the by-laws to state that board members needed to attend 8 out of 12 meetings per year and they board members must reside within Howard County. They also voted to change the by-laws to state that board members are expected to conduct themselves with integrity and professionalism when on social media.
Board members stated they will form focus groups on January 14 during a public meeting to discuss the four primary areas of focus in the county. The next board meeting will be January 23.
