Two Killed, Three Injured in Highway 71 Crash North of Texarkana

Two people were killed and three others were injured in a crash involving an SUV and an 18-wheeler on Highway 71 north of Texarkana, according to the Texas State Police.

Authorities said the SUV traveled underneath the trailer of the 18-wheeler during the collision. Two occupants of the SUV died at the scene, while three others were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no additional information has been released at this time.
