Nashville Man Arrested After Alleged Vehicle Theft and Disturbance

A 34-year-old Nashville man has been arrested following an investigation into a reported disturbance and the theft of a pickup truck and trailer on July 11.

According to the affidavit, Nashville Police Officer Dillon Roberts responded to a disturbance call at Taco Bell on South Fourth Street, where an employee reported that a shirtless man had parked a truck and trailer in the parking lot before acting erratically and running into a wooded area.

Officers located the truck still running with the driver’s door open. After identifying the registered owner of the vehicle, officers, along with Howard County deputies, searched the wooded area behind the restaurant. During the search, they heard a man calling for help and identified him as 34-year-old Kody Box of Nashville.

According to the affidavit, officers entered the wooded area to assist Box, who allegedly admitted he had taken the truck so he could search for his wife. Authorities also allege Box told officers that he and his wife had taken items from a storage unit.

Investigators later learned the pickup truck and gooseneck trailer had been reported stolen from Hometown Poultry. Surveillance video reportedly showed the vehicles being taken at approximately 10:48 p.m. that evening.

The stolen property included a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup valued at approximately $50,000 and a Delco gooseneck trailer valued at approximately $25,000.

Box was taken into custody and transported to the Howard County Detention Facility. He was charged with Breaking or Entering and Theft of Property.
