Two people killed in accident in Pike County

A Hot Springs man and a Fayetteville woman were killed Monday, August 4, in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 70 in Pike County.

According to the preliminary investigation by Arkansas State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 6 p.m. A 2023 Nissan Rogue driven by 71-year-old Gail Davis was traveling eastbound when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 33-year-old Garrett Whitt.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash was investigated by Arkansas State Police Trooper Michael Summitt.
