Local Author Donates Books to Howard County Jail Library

Local author Jason Horn recently donated copies of his three published books to the Howard County Jail library.

Horn’s books include The Dark Path Home, Crossing Paths and his latest release, The Winter Bear.

Howard County Jail Administrator and newly elected Circuit Court Clerk Jana Tallant said inmates have access to the library and are able to check out books to read.

Tallant said many of the books in the jail library have been donated by individuals as well as members of First Baptist Church in Nashville. She noted that all books donated to the jail library must be paperback.

Horn said the donation came about after Tammy Smith won a copy of The Winter Bear in a radio contest. Smith ordered a copy of the book and asked Horn to donate it to the jail library instead.

Horn said his books focus on positive themes, including faith, family and making the right choices. He also said some of the characters in his books are based on people who have made a significant impact on his life.

Horn also shared information about where readers can purchase copies of his books.
