Scrappers Open Season Tonight Against Bismarck Lions

The Nashville Scrappers will open the 2026 football season tonight when they host the Bismarck Lions on the Hill.

During Tuesday’s Brad Chesshir Coaches Show, KMTB and KNAS had the opportunity to speak with Scrapper Head Football Coach Brad Chesshir and Offensive Coordinator Zach Stewart about tonight’s season opener and Nashville’s first opponent.

Chesshir began by pointing out that it has been a while since the Scrappers opened a season with a 1-0 record, with the last time coming in 2019.

Chesshir also emphasized that Nashville cannot overlook Bismarck simply because the Lions are a Class 3A program. He said Bismarck is a very good team and is ranked highly in the state of Arkansas.

The Scrapper head coach also discussed the process of finding non-conference opponents, saying he began making calls last fall in an effort to find teams willing to play Nashville.

Offensive Coordinator Zach Stewart talked about what the Scrappers need to accomplish offensively to be successful against the Lions.

Chesshir then discussed the keys for the Scrapper defense heading into tonight’s matchup.

To close out the show, Chesshir extended an open invitation to Scrapper fans to come out and support the team as Nashville begins the new season.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. tonight on the Hill, with B99.5 providing live coverage of the game.
