Arkansas Activities Association to Select 2025 Regional and State Tournament Hosts for Multiple Sports
Schools Compete for Hosting Rights in Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Track and Field, and Soccer at January 16 Meeting in North Little Rock
The Arkansas Activities Association is set to select the 2025 regional and state tournament sites for basketball, baseball, softball, track and field and soccer on Thursday, January 16 in North Little Rock at 2 pm.
Schools who entered a bid to host a postseason tournament will have the opportunity to present their case as to why they should be selected at that meeting.
In basketball, Monticello, De Queen and Star City submitted bids to host the 4-4A regional tournament. The three schools that submitted bids to host the 4A state tournament were Highland, Monticello and Magnolia.
Centerpoint submitted a bid to host the 4-3A regional tournament along with Dumas and Drew Central. Dierks, Cutter Morning Star, Junction City, Poyen and Hampton submitted bids to host the 4-2A regional tournament, while Kirby and Lafayette County submitted bids to host the 4-1A regional tournament.
In the 4-4A region, De Queen and Monticello submitted bids to host the baseball and softball regional tournaments, while Ashdown and Genoa Central submitted bids to host the 4-3A regional tournaments. Horatio and Woodlawn submitted bids for the 4-2A baseball and softball regional tournaments, and Junction City submitted a bid for the softball regional tournament only. Taylor submitted the lone bid to host the 4-1A baseball and softball tournaments.
Pocahontas and Heber Springs submitted bids to host the 4A state track and field meet. Prescott, Harding Academy and Jessieville submitted bids to host the 3A state track and field meet, while no schools submitted bids to host the 2A or 1A track meets. There will no bids submitted for the decathlon and heptathlon, but Harding Academy submitted a bid to host the meet of champions.
4A soccer will be held at Robinson in Little Rock, since they were the only school to submit a bid for the tournament.
