Scrapperettes Overcome Dequeen Lady Leopards in a Thrilling Matchup

In a hard-fought contest at Scrapper Arena on Wednesday evening, January 15th, the Nashville Scrapperettes outlasted the Dequeen Lady Leopards with a 68-53 victory, improving their overall record to 13-6 and remaining undefeated in conference play at 2-0.

The Lady Leopards led at halftime, 28-26, in what was a back-and-forth battle from the start. But Nashville came out with renewed energy in the second half, powering through with a strong offensive performance. Caroline Dean was the standout player for the Scrapperettes, scoring a game-high 30 points to lead her team to victory.

Scrapperettes’ head basketball coach, Paul Dean, reflected on the team’s performance so far in conference play and offered his thoughts on the Magnolia Lady Panthers as an upcoming opponent.

In the boys’ matchup that followed, the Nashville Scrappers also claimed a decisive victory over the Dequeen Leopards, winning 70-54. Junior Bo Bell led the way with 28 points, while Johnte Taylor contributed 17 points, and senior Kasen Morgan chipped in with 15. The Scrappers are now 9 and 3 overall and 2 and 0 in the conference.

Both teams will be back in action on tonight as they travel to Magnolia to face the Lady Panthers and Panthers. Tip-off for the girls’ game is set for 6:00 p.m., and fans can catch all the action live on B99.5.
