Dierks Outlaws Cruise Past Fouke Panthers in Home Opener, Improve to 3-0

The Dierks Outlaws made a statement in their first home game of the season Friday night, defeating the Fouke Panthers 55-34 to remain undefeated at 3-0.

Before kickoff, players, coaches and staff took a moment to commemorate September 11 and honor those who lost their lives on that day.

Once the game got underway, the Outlaws wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Junior Maclane Smith scored the first touchdown of the night, putting Dierks ahead 6-0. The Outlaws successfully converted the two-point attempt to make it 8-0.

Fouke responded with a touchdown and a successful field-goal attempt, cutting the deficit to 8-7.

Smith found the end zone again for Dierks, extending the Outlaws’ lead to 14-7. Once again, Dierks converted the two-point attempt, making it 16-7.

The Outlaws continued their offensive attack in the second quarter, adding another touchdown and two-point conversion to push the score to 24-7. Fouke answered with a touchdown and two-point conversion of its own, bringing the Panthers within nine at 24-15.

Dierks answered right back with another touchdown and successful two-point conversion, sending the Outlaws into halftime with a commanding 32-15 lead.

The Outlaws continued to control the game in the second half. Dierks added to its lead throughout the third quarter, taking a 48-27 advantage into the final period.

The Outlaws put the finishing touches on the victory in the fourth quarter, closing out the Panthers 55-34.

With the win, Dierks improves to 3-0 on the season and continues its strong start.
