Mineral Springs Man Arrested After Alleged Domestic Assault in Nashville

A 31-year-old Mineral Springs man is facing multiple charges following an alleged domestic disturbance in Nashville on August 19th.

According to the affidavit, Nashville Police Lieutenant Clint Tedford, along with Patrol Officers Jarrett Rogers and Jason Icenhower, were dispatched to a residence on Henderson Street after a 911 call reporting people screaming.

When officers arrived, they encountered a woman who told Lt. Tedford that Xavier Jones had allegedly struck her and kicked in the door to the residence.

According to the affidavit, the woman told investigators Jones had come to the residence after she had contacted law enforcement earlier because she wanted his belongings removed. She reportedly said Jones saw her through a window, kicked in the door and entered the home.

The affidavit states Jones allegedly damaged furniture inside the residence and assaulted the woman, including allegedly choking and slamming her to the ground and striking her several times.

Lt. Tedford documented the scene with photographs of the damaged door frame, furniture and the woman’s face, according to the affidavit.

While taking Jones into custody, Officer Icenhower allegedly located pills believed to be Ecstasy and a plastic bag containing a green, vegetable substance believed to be marijuana.

Jones was transported to the Howard County Detention Facility.

He is facing charges of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and Domestic Battery in the Third Degree.

The allegations contained in the affidavit are accusations, and Jones is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
