Dierks School Board Approves Joining Social Media Lawsuit

The Dierks School Board held their regular monthly meeting Tuesday, with members discussing a number of topics, including the district’s finances, school security, athletics, facilities and social media litigation.

The board discussed a resolution to join a mass class-action lawsuit involving social media litigation. Following the discussion, the board approved the resolution. The motion was made by Justin Simmons and seconded by Laykon Graham.

Superintendent Grover Hill presented the district’s financials and provided updates on board training hours and workshops. The board also discussed updates concerning the football field.

The board approved a motion to transfer $50,000 from the building fund to the building investment fund. Members also approved a quote from KLC Video Security in the amount of $51,869.32.

The board discussed the EBD payment platform and the district’s transition to the EBD Portal.

Football-related matters were also discussed during the meeting. The board approved an increase in football field cleanup pay to $125, retroactive to the beginning of the football season. Members also discussed additional football field updates.

The board also approved the Pee-Wee basketball program to use district facilities as previously agreed.

Several budget items were approved during the meeting, including the district’s 2026-2027 budget, the 2026-2027 Federal budgets for Title I and Title VI-B and categorical budgets, as well as the 2026-2027 athletic budget.

The board approved six student transfers into the district and two transfers out. Board-to-board transfers through Supt. Hill were also approved.
