Walk Across Arkansas Returns for Spring 2025 to Help Arkansans Reach Fitness Goals
For Arkansans looking to improve their fitness and develop healthy habits this spring, the popular “Walk Across Arkansas” program is offering a free, eight-week exercise challenge designed to get participants moving.
The program, which is hosted by the Cooperative Extension Service—the outreach arm of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture—provides an opportunity for individuals to come together in teams of up to 30 people. Teams log their total number of minutes spent on physical activity each day, competing in a fun, group-based format.
Walk Across Arkansas is a free, community-focused initiative that encourages friendly competition between friends, family, co-workers, or church groups. Whether you’re looking to improve your overall fitness or just develop healthier habits, Walk Across Arkansas offers something for everyone.
Registration for the spring 2025 session opens February 24, with the competition officially kicking off on March 10 and running until May 4. Participants can register and log exercise minutes at walk.uada.edu/walk/.
The fall 2024 session saw impressive participation, with 160 teams and 1,757 individuals from 39 counties reporting more than 1.9 million minutes of physical activity. Many past participants have shared positive outcomes, including increased energy, better sleep, weight loss, stronger relationships, reduced stress, and improvements in blood pressure and overall health.
Anyone can take part in Walk Across Arkansas, and Division of Agriculture employees are welcome to join—just be sure to use a personal email address for registration. For more information and to sign up for the upcoming spring session, visit walk.uada.edu/walk/.
