Two Southwest Arkansas Men Killed in Separate Crashes

Two separate crashes in recent days have claimed the lives of two southwest Arkansas men.
In rural Hempstead County, 18-year-old Payton B. Jordan of Nashville died Tuesday morning following a crash on U.S. Highway 371.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Jordan was traveling northbound on a 2024 Kawasaki when he apparently crossed the center line and collided with a southbound 2019 Western Star tractor-trailer.
Trooper Holly Romero was the investigating officer.
In a separate crash, 34-year-old Eddie Reed Jr. of Mineral Springs was killed Saturday morning on Highway 355 south of Mineral Springs.
The preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police states that Reed was traveling northbound in a 2023 Kia when he apparently failed to negotiate a right-hand curve. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Trooper Ian Nelson was the investigating officer.
Both crashes remain subject to the ongoing investigation by the Arkansas State Police.
