UA Cossatot Chancellor guest speaker at Nashville Rotary Meeting
UA Cossatot Chancellor, Dr. Steve Cole provided the members of the Nashville Rotary Club with an update about the college.
Cole reported the spring enrollment numbers for UA Cossatot was 1,197 students. He said 500 of those students are high school students.
Cole also stated UA Cossatot’s graduation rate is up to 54 percent.
Cole reported UA Cossatot field athletic teams in boys and girls basketball, soccer and trap. He said they will add cross country in the fall.
UA Cosssatot also offers several classes that can lead to next-generation careers. Some of those careers are in the fields of Health Sciences, Cybersecurity and Computer Science and the newest program – Fiber Network Engineer.
UA Cossatot is helping students complete their degrees with programs like Career Connections and POWER Grant, which provides financial support to students who are pursuing careers in education and nursing, by covering the cost of exam fees, uniforms, housing, transportation and childcare.
UA Cossatot’s retention rate is 61 percent and 78 percent of their courses use Open Educational Resources, which saves students money on the cost of textbooks.
