Dierks School Board Approves New Bank Account, Vehicle Purchase

The Dierks School Board met Thursday afternoon for a special called meeting, where members were informed that the district would need to establish a new bank account at First State Bank after a fraudulent check compromised the district’s existing account.

Board members voted to authorize the opening of a new account. District Treasurer Kayla Jones, Secretary Kayla Tedford, and Superintendent Grover Hill will serve as authorized users. The new account is expected to become active Sunday, November 1.

During the meeting, board members also approved the purchase of a used 2023 GMC Yukon SLT from York Gary Autoplex in Nashville. The purchase price was $45,000.

Superintendent Hill also addressed the district’s high school dress code and classroom sizes, providing board members with updates on those topics.
