Minor gas leak discovered at Hope High School

ATTENTION: As of 10:30am Tuesday April 15, Hope HIgh School is back on schedule and the gas line has been repaired. Thank you to everyone who helped resolve this so quickly!

HOPE, AR – April 15 2025 – Important safety update: Students and staff are safe after a minor gas leak at Hope High School.
School will carry on as normal during the day, including lunch service.

The mowing crew hit a gas line at Hope High School this morning. Proper authorities were contacted immediately and the Hope Public Schools Emergency Action Plan was initiated.

Students are secure inside the building and normal activities will resume throughout the day. School will dismiss at the regular time today.

We are so thankful for the efforts taken by Hope Public School staff, community emergency responders, and our community. Thank you to the Hope Police Department and Hope Fire Department for their quick action. This is a great example of everyone coming together.

We have received calls about checking students out of school early. Parents, please refrain from pulling your students out of school early today as we are transitioning back to normal school activities. Please bear with us during this minor interruption.
