Mineral Springs City Council Holds Monthly Meeting, Highlights Community and Public Safety Updates

The Mineral Springs City Council held its regular monthly meeting on Monday, with Mayor Pro Tem Vera Marks presiding in place of Mayor Bobby Tullis.

Following the approval of the previous meeting’s minutes, Marks presented a number of upcoming projects to the council.

During the meeting, Marks took a moment to recognize two city employees for their dedication and service: Public Works Director Eric Marks and Police Officer William Harberson.

Marks also reflected on her deep connection to the Mineral Springs community and the importance of service and unity.

In other council business, Police Chief Francisco Mercado announced his department has acquired a 2015 Dodge Charger from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office for $2,260. He stated the vehicle will be a valuable addition to the department’s fleet, providing a much-needed spare.

Fire Chief Chris Hostetler also shared an update, reporting that Logan Ray recently completed First Responder training at the Fire Academy, enhancing the readiness of the city’s emergency response team.
