Dierks City Council Approves Budget
The Dierks City Council has approved a budget for 2020. At Monday’s regularly scheduled meeting, the four council members present approved a budget featuring funds and expenses each totaling more than 711 thousand 600 dollars. Those figures do not include the water and sewer departments. Approval of the budget last night followed a failed attempt to include a 25 cent per hour pay raise for city employees.
Council members plan to include the purchase of eight GPS units for city owned vehicles. Four of the units will be placed in police cars and the others will go to various city owned vehicles. This year’s budget also includes the purchase of six body cameras for police officers.
