City Of Dierks Seeking Grant For $200,000
After receiving an 80 thousand dollar grant for park improvements, the city of Dierks is now going after funding to help improve the town’s water and sewage treatment systems. At Monday’s council meeting, Dierks aldermen voted to pursue two hundred thousand dollars in grant funding for the repairs.
Mayor Ronnie Cogburn said last year’s flood left the city needing to make the repairs.
The city will apply for a grant through the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, and if grant approval is given from the state, the funds will be administered through the Southwest Arkansas Planning and Development District.
A public meeting for the grant application is scheduled for February 24th.
