Nashville Bridge Nearing Completion

Work is continuing on a new bridge near Nashville Primary School.

Double J Excavation recently did dirt work around the bridge and the city is waiting for the gravel to dry.

Remaining work on the project include pouring the two aprons, installing guard rails and demolishing the existing bridge.

Public works director Larry Dunaway says the bridge should be ready for traffic sometime this summer.

The 8th Street bridge is one of two major projects that have been taking in place in Nashville. City crews have also been working to make repairs to the spillway area at Lake Nichols. The July 2019 flood caused extensive erosion just below the lake.
