Rebsamen Named Nashville School District Point of Contact Person
The Nashville School District has named a Point of Contact person who will handle information related to COVID-19 within the district. Elementary Principal Rick Rebsamen was appointed to the position Monday by the school board. Rebsamen will receive a stipend for handling the duties. Superintendent Doug Graham said the position, which is being required by the state, could become time consuming:
Rebsamen, who has been through the COVID-19 recovery process himself, said he has a good understanding as to what type of information will be needed in the event the district has to deal with COVID-19 cases.
The naming of a Point of Contact person was one of several personnel matters handled in Monday’s special board meeting. Resignations were accepted from 39 year teaching veteran Karen Kell and recently hired coach T.J. Langley.
Personnel employment Monday included the naming of Kim Slayton as the district’s Federal Programs Coordinator. Slayton was hired for the position on an interim basis while Assistant Superintendent Joe Kell remains on medical leave. Susan Renfrow was named as the Family & Consumer Sciences teacher at junior high, Earl Lollis was hired as primary custodian, Rachel Neeley was employed as elementary teacher, and John Anderson and Dale Bennett were each hired for bus driving positions.
Superintendent Graham also announced the Back To School Bash, planned for later this month, has been cancelled, and the Senior Scrapper football scrimmage against Hot Springs Lakeside will be hosted at Scrapper Stadium this month instead of being played at Henderson State University.
