Funding Source Sought for Solar Panel Project

A funding source is still being sought for the recently approved solar panel project in the city of Nashville. The project, expected to cost almost $2.4 million dollars, would be paid for by monthly savings on electricity the city will generate over an 18 year 8 month period. However, as the project gets closer to be paid for, the monthly payments are estimated to be more than the savings. Mayor Billy Ray Jones said the city is working to find a solution and will have something for council members to approve in September.
