Murfreesboro Purchases New Police Truck
The Murfreesboro Police Department will be purchasing a pickup through the state bid process. Last month, council members gave the ok for Police Chief Randy Lamb to purchase the type of vehicle he thought would best serve the department. After deciding between an S.U.V. and the truck, the department will be purchasing a four wheel drive Dodge pickup at a cost of approximately $23,000 dollars. There will also be the added expense in the neighborhood of 15 thousand dollars to outfit the vehicle for law enforcement purposes.
Mayor Rodney Fagan said the city’s decision to buy the truck was based in part on the vehicle being able to be used by the street department once police are ready to upgrade.
The city of Murfreesboro will also be getting a flagpole for the city hall building. Mayor Fagan said the pole will be bronze to match the sign & other items outside the building.
