Extension Agency issues prussic acid alert

With the onset of colder temperatures and widespread frost in the coming weeks, the Pike County Extension Service is issuing an alert to cattle producers concerning the dangers that some grasses pose to livestock. Extension Agent Terrell Davis says Johnson grass is among the vegetation that produces prussic acid, which can be fatal to livestock, without any warning:
