Quorum Court approves final 2020 budget
Yesterday’s February meeting of the Howard County Quorum Court featured a lot of discussion, but little action taken. J.p.’s approved an ordinance to clean up the 2020 county budget and another ordinance for to account for unanticipated revenue already this year.
Discussion of other items included the 588 thousand dollars Howard County received last year in COVID-19 related funding. Howard County Judge Kevin Smith said State Representative Justin Gonzales has submitted the request for an attorney general’s opinion on the county assessor’s position, and the judge also reported that McKinstry Industries officials plan to be at next month’s quorum court meeting to give a review on the solar panel and energy savings project the county is participating in.
