Accident claims life on Murfreesboro man near Daisy

An accident claimed the life of a Murfreesboro man in nearby Daisy last week.

According to the Arkansas State Police, 76-year-old William H. Cox was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 70 just east of Daisy in Pike County on May 24 when his semi-truck left the roadway. The accident report states that Cox overcorrected, crossing both lanes and then exiting the roadway again before overturning onto its passenger side and striking a carport.

He was transported to UAMS in Little Rock but was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident and the investigating state trooper reported road conditions as clear and dry at the time of the accident.
