Accident claims the life of a former Dierks High School band director and wife

Tuesday morning, a former band director in the Dierks School District, Thomas Trigg and his wife, Janet died as the result of a two vehicle accident on State Highway 165 in Chicot County.

Thomas and his wife, Janet were traveling south on Highway 165, when their vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2018 Chevrolet truck.

Thomas and Janet died from their injuries, while the driver of the Chevy truck, 31-year0old Christopher Moffatt was taken to the Jefferson Regional Medical Center for his injuries.

According to the Arkansas State Police report, the road conditions were wet, but visibility was clear.

According to the McGehee School District, the Triggs were an integral part of their school community and the district’s Crisis Response Team will be available to students, parents and school personnel.
