Accident in Sevier County claims life of Dierks man

A two-vehicle accident in Sevier County earlier this week claimed the life of a Dierks man.

According to the Arkansas State Police, 69-year-old Gerald Cornish of Dierks was traveling west on U.S. Highway 70E in Sevier County on June 19th when his 2018 Nissan collided with the rear of a semi-truck traveling in the same direction. The accident occurred about 12:30 that afternoon. Cornish was transported to the Sevier County Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigating state trooper reported road conditions as clear and dry at the time of the accident.
