Additional COVID-19 Death In Southwest Arkansas

An additional COVID-19 death has been reported in the region.

According to the Arkansas Department of Health, Polk County had its first virus related death confirmed by state officials yesterday. In addition to Polk county, there have been two deaths in Sevier and one in Hempstead county.

Concerning the number of active cases in the area, the health department says Sevier county continues to have the fourth highest active case total in the state with 178 cases at the current time. Polk county has 17 active cases, followed by seven in Howard county and six in Hempstead county. Little River county has four active cases and there’s one active case of COVID-19 in Pike county.
