Area Census Response Not Enthusiastic

Fewer than 50 percent of area residents have completed the 2020 census.

According to information from the census bureau, Howard County is reporting a 45 completion rate.

The number for other counties is also in the 40 to 50 percent range.

Pike County is reporting a 42 percent completion rate.

Hempstead County’s numbers show a 47 percent completion.

Sevier County, 48 percent of the surveys returned, is the highest among area counties.

Within cities, 49 percent of Nashville citizens have completed the census.

About a quarter of Mineral Springs resident have finished the survey while Dierks is reporting just a 19 percent census completion.

In Pike County, Murfreesboro had the highest completion rate at 48 percent while Antoine is the county’s lowest number with just 13 percent of citizens having returned the census or completed it through the internet.
