Area Troopers Honored

A state trooper stationed in Howard County has been given the Trooper’s Cross during a state police awards ceremony Wednesday night. Corporal Kyle Jones was presented the award for rescuing two women and a small child from a bus that was caught in rapidly rising and swift water during the July 2019 flood at Dierks.
Another trooper with Howard County ties was honored as well during Wednesday night’s ceremony. Trooper Drew Pannell, a Dierks native, was awarded an Official Commendation for exemplary service in 2019. The award was presented earlier this year during a monthly meeting of the Arkansas State Police Commission.
