Area Unemployment Rates

Howard County’s unemployment rate for August was 6.2 percent, ranking the county as the 15th lowest in Arkansas. Some of the other neighboring county rates included an even six percent in Hempstead County and 6.7 percent in Pike County.
Statewide numbers for August ranked from a low of 4.8 percent in Madison County to a high of 12.3 percent for Chicot County.
