Arkansas Department of Corrections Pays Inmates to Get Vaccinated

The Arkansas Department of Corrections has announced in an attempt to slow the potential spread of COVID-19 within the state’s facilities they will be giving offenders who are fully vaccinated within the ADC’s custody $50. The money will be a one-time payment deposited into the offender’s trust account after the DOC receives notification from their medical provider, Wellpath, that they’ve been vaccinated. A total of 77,067 tests have been administered for both inmates and staff within the state’s facilities. 11,763 of those tested positive and have since recovered. 42 inmates have recently tested positive and are currently undergoing treatment.. And of the medical staff 70 have recently tested positive and are also undergoing treatment for COVID-19.
