Arkansas Mask Wearing Directive Now In Effect
Governor Asa Hutchinson’s directive for mask wearing as a means of reducing the spread of COVID-19 went into place yesterday.
Nashville police chief Amy Marion encourages local residents to wear a facial covering when it’s not possible to social distance. She said her department’s desire is not to issue citations for people who aren’t wearing a mask. Chief Marion also said she doesn’t want to see local businesses be required to close as was the case earlier this year.
Howard County Sheriff Bryan McJunkins said his department main focus will be to respond to any complaints of disorderly conduct and trespassing due to businesses requiring masks and citizens who cause problems because they refuse to wear a mask.
