Arkansas Sales Tax Holiday Set for August 1-2

Arkansas shoppers can save money on back-to-school purchases during the state’s annual Sales Tax Holiday, which will be held Friday, August 1, through Saturday, August 2.

During the two-day tax holiday, qualifying items can be purchased without paying state and local sales tax. Eligible items include clothing priced under $100 per item, clothing accessories under $50 per item, school supplies, school art supplies, instructional materials, and electronic devices commonly used by students, including laptops, desktop computers, tablets, calculators, printers, computer monitors, keyboards, computer mice, e-readers, and cellular phones.

Not all items qualify for the exemption. Sewing supplies, protective equipment, and most sports and recreational equipment remain taxable.

A complete list of exempt and taxable items is available on our website at southwestarkansasradio.com.

For more information, contact the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration’s customer service office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at (501) 682-7104.
